  • Beauvallon Beach

    Beauvallon Beach is a leisure area with gorgeous natural greenery all around the vast lake where you can hire a peddle boat, relax on the beach, have a paddle or swim, or eat and drink in the bar and restaurant.  There is a children's play area and a pétanque court.

    Concerts and events are organised through the summer.  

    A four minute drive from La Goujonne or a 20 minute walk through the forest.

  • Circuit of Haute Saintonge

    For anyone who loves cars, motorbikes, or karting, this is the place for you.  Take your own car/bike or watch the array of fabulous cars travel around the track at speed.  Courses are held, advocates of Road Safety and many charity days.

  • Maison de la Forêt - The Forest House

    A wonderful for place for children and adults alike.  A 20 hectare natural site with different trees making up a wonderful forest with trails to walk through with educational information along the way. Themed areas include a butterfly reserve, beehives, bird maze and fabulous life like carvings.  A play area with balance beams, skill, and a zip line.

    There is a viewing tower with a 360° view of the south side of Haute Saintonge.

    You can purchase ice creams and drinks along with amazing local products and souvenirs, and the tourist office is filled with lots of local information.

    Monolithic Church of Saint-Jean     This extraordinary underground church carved directly into the limestone cliff dates back to the 7th century and was expanded in the 12th century by Benedictine monks. It's considered the largest underground church in Europe with a 20 meter high nave.
